BuildingLink

Situation:

BuildingLink is an established software company with a young and vibrant staff whose Internet-based system manages the day-to-day communications, record-keeping and task tracking between occupants, building staff and property managers in residential buildings. Since its inception, the company had been located in a property in Long Island City. When Intrepid met with the company, they were interested in finding a new location that would enhance their image and build brand equity. Additionally, they had grown to a level of success where they were able to attract high-level industry and creative staff, and wanted to house them in a location that reflected their image.

Action:

Intrepid identified the best neighborhood for BuildingLink to grow and thrive—the Flatiron District of Manhattan. This area is a popular choice for Manhattan's software & technology industry and other creative businesses. Top employees migrate to this area due to the many employers located there, along with the diverse selection of trendy restaurants, shopping and more. The Intrepid team showed BuildingLink executives close to 30 buildings in this sub-market and in the immediate surrounding area where they could lease office space.

Result:

In the end, BuildingLink's owner fell in love with a space at 85 5th Avenue and decided to purchase the space rather than lease it. This decision allowed our client to invest in an extensive build-out with no concerns for fickle market conditions or landlord demands. The company continues to enjoy their well-located, new space in the heart of one of the city's most exciting neighborhoodse.
